Arianna Barbara Lovati
Preclinical research scientist

Arianna B. Lovati works as preclinical researcher in the Cell and Tissue Engineering Lab, IRCCS Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute (Milan - Italy) since 2009. She works as PI of an Italian Ministry of Health funded project focused on development of decellularized matrix for tissue substitution. In 2002, she graduated in Veterinary at the University of Milan (Italy) working on extracorporeal shock wave therapy for equine orthopaedic diseases. She went on to complete an Internship of equine arthroscopy at the Tierklinik (Germany) in 2006. She collaborated with the Cornell University (Ithaca, USA) performing studies on equine mesenchymal stem cells, with the the Advanced Biotechnology Center, University of Genoa (Italy) and CRABCC at the University of Milan working on animal models in orthopaedics and cardiovascular surgery. In 2010, she obtained her Ph.D degree at the University of Milan focusing on adult stem cells from different equine tissues for orthopaedic treatments.

Dr. Lovati current research focuses on adult stem cells and tissue engineering-based therapies for cartilage, bone and tendon repair and orthopaedic infections being the main area of investigation in her preclinical field.
